July Shows! Come on!

I’m again East Coast Bound. I’ve got some good ones, from the artful intimacy of the Rubin Museum in NY to the gay gay Ice Palace in Cherry Grove. Before I leave LA, I will be at the Echoplex  on July 12 for a Jail Guitar Doors benefit, hosted by Adam McKay and Wayne Kramer. Last Sunday, I joined Jail Guitar Doors and sang Mexican Wrestler for 500 inmates at the maximum security prison in Lancaster, Ca. I hope you will all be just as well behaved as they were. Heroes – back catalog song of the day

Listen here: Heroes I got real excited when someone told me that the SF Gate mentioned my Dylan reference in the song Heroes yesterday. It was an article on “Great Moments in Concert Films”. Here was what they said on Don’t Look Back: Don’t Look Back (1967) – Bob Dylan, young, brilliant and terrifying – and also something of a … shall we say … not-so-nice person. Back Catalog Song of the Day – Mexican Wrestler

I get asked to sing this song probably more than any other song in my catalog. I never mind, nor do I tire of it. For some reason, I always can get into the mind and heart of a girl recently kicked to the curb. Here I offer several versions. When I opened up for Cyndi Lauper a few years ago, she would come out with her dulcimer and sing it with me. Listen here Here I am at La Java inParis – on the same stage where Edith Piaf used to play. I wondered if that was a place... Read More
